Lynn and Charles are prepared to offer programs and workshops of various types. Most recently, our songs and hymns were on the programs of the Ames Childrens’ Choirs, the Green Hills Retirement Community, and Zion United Church of Christ, Hubbard, IA.
They are available for:
- Interactive evening programs of 1 to 2 hours, featuring samples of new hymns as well as congregational singing of classic hymns. Working with local church musicians and instrumentalists, we can provide a deeper understanding and feeling for the power and need for hymns.
- A Sunday morning adult education program (PowerPoint) “How Can We Keep from Singing?”
- Worship (as preacher and guest organist). During a regular worship service, several of our hymns and responses would be included in the bulletin. Prior to the service, we could facilitate an adult class discussion about worship with emphasis on why the Church sings. It would also discuss ways to improve congregational singing. A variation is a special Sunday afternoon or evening vesper service, i.e., a hymn festival. In either option, a choir would have received the hymns and responses long in advance to help lead the singing. If deemed appropriate, soloists and instrumentalists from the church would be invited to participate.
