Special Services in the Lives of Disciples

$49.00 (USD)

Purpose

To aid congregations and individual disciples as the celebrate their faith from birth to death, especially at events held in communities of faith.

Background

While each of us is ultimately responsible for how we respond to “the cost and joy of discipleship” as described by Dietrich Bonhöeffer and others, we also can experience being part of a “beloved community.” Through the history of discipleship, our mothers and fathers of the faith have called us to sing psalms and songs that reflect our journeys step by step.  We jest and say the Church ministers to us from “womb to tomb,” or more recently phrased as from the time we “hatch, match, attach” to the time we “dispatch.”

The hymns in this collection relate to all the stages of a disciple’s life.  We believe that families may find benefit to use these texts and tunes in their devotions.
